Intreadon · last updated 20 September 2026
Intreadon is a mobile reading companion: you give it a link, it extracts the article, translates it, and your phone reads it aloud. This page describes what that involves for your data. The app is still in development and has not been publicly released.
What we store
- Your email addressSo that you can sign in and so your free-trial allowance follows you. It is the only personal detail we ask for — no name, no phone number, no address.
- Your sign-in codes, hashedA code is never written down in readable form. We keep only a keyed hash of it, it expires after 10 minutes, and it can be used once.
- The IP address a sign-in code was requested fromStored alongside that code record and used for one purpose: enforcing the limits that stop someone hammering the system with sign-in requests.
- Your session, hashedStaying signed in uses a token that we also store only as a hash, with an expiry.
- An installation identifierA random identifier for the app installation — not your device's ID, not an advertising ID. It is used to limit how many free accounts one installation can set up, so we record which accounts have signed in on it and when.
- A usage record per translationThe time, an internal request id, whether it succeeded, and whether it used a free attempt, together with the model used and its token and cost figures, which is how we meter what the translation cost us. It contains nothing about the article — see below.
What we do not store
None of the following is kept — not in our database, and not in our server logs:
- the links you read
- the text of the articles you open
- the translations you receive
- any audio — reading aloud uses your device's own built-in voice, so nothing is recorded and nothing is sent to us
A page you open is fetched, translated and returned to you; the content passes through and is not kept. When a page fails to load, we record only what went wrong — an HTTP status or an error type — never the address you asked for.
Who else sees your data
- OpenAIThe text of the article you are reading is sent to OpenAI's API to be translated. Your email address and account are not sent with it.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES)Delivers your sign-in code email, which means AWS handles your email address for that delivery.
- The site you asked forFetching the page you paste in is an ordinary web request to that site, made by our server.
There is no one else. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
The only email Intreadon sends is the 6-digit sign-in code, and only at the moment you ask for one on the sign-in screen. There is no newsletter, no promotional email and no mailing list — your address is never added to one. Requests are limited to 5 per address per hour.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts of any kind.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app: open Settings, choose Delete account, and confirm. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Deleting removes your email address, your sign-in code records and the IP addresses stored with them, every session you have, your usage records, and the link between your account and the installation it was set up on. You are signed out on the spot and any existing sign-in stops working. Nothing of yours is kept afterwards.
Two things deliberately survive, and neither is about you: the installation identifier itself, which is a random value belonging to the app installation rather than to your account and may still be in use by another account on that device; and our day-by-day totals of what translation cost us, which carry no account, no address and no record of what was translated.
If you would rather we did it, or you can no longer sign in, email samanvi.in@gmail.com from the address you signed up with.
